Gilmore Insurance Agency was begun by John J. Gilmore, Sr. What started as a one man operation grew to four employees in 1952, when John J. Gilmore, Jr. joined the agency and became a career agent for the New England Life Insurance Co. It was the genesis of the agency's involvement in providing complete financial services.

On July 1, 1984, the Gilmore Insurance Agency merged with Packard, Sawyer, Watters and Bell Insurance Agency to create Gilmore and Watters. The Gilmore Ins. Agency and PSW&B brought a high level of expertise and professionalism to insurance in Franklin County.

Bob Gilmore joined his father in 1990 after a year as a Commercial Lines Underwriter with the USF&G Ins. Co. in Springfield, MA and in 1992 was elected President of Gilmore and Watters. In July of 1997, we embarked on a new path and became Gilmore and Associates.

With a staff of six professionals, we continue to grow in the commitment to provide great service, advice and insurance protection for our clients.
